The one that makes your boobs pop.

You are going to fall in love Poppy. It’s one of those sewing patterns that just keeps giving. You get a dress, a top, and a skirt all in one, so it’s perfect for when you want something pretty without faffing around with lots of different sewing patterns.

You can choose between thin straps or wider ones so if you’re someone who prefers your bra straps hidden, you’re covered. And the puff sleeves? Oh my, they give it the sweetest romantic vibe. The bodice is fully lined and everything is finished with French seams, which makes the inside look so clean and tidy. And you don’t even need an overlocker, which is always a win.

The skirt and dress have pockets (obviously!) and the faux-shirred elastic waist is so comfy. It gives that soft, floaty shape without you feeling squeezed in. You can pick an invisible zip or a faux-shirred back for the dress and top so if you’re not in a “zip mood,” you can skip it completely. Plus, it comes with three different cup sizes up to a cup size I, so you’re way more likely to get that perfect fit without loads of adjustments. Many people can go bra free wearing Poppy which is just magical isn't it? There’s even a fitting guide that walks you through shaping the bust and waist, step by step.

Honestly, whether you make it as a cute co-ord or a standalone dress, you’ll keep reaching for this pattern. You’re going to have so much fun sewing this one and you'll feel confident wearing it too!

And when you make it, please tag #thepoppypattern so I can swoon over it!

Finished Garment Measurements

This is the size the garment will be once you’ve sewn it together.

Fabric Requirements

Fabric quantities have been calculated for Poppy based on the D/E/F cup and a waist panel; if you’re using the A/B/C or G/H/I cups or making without the waist panel then this will use a little less/more than shown below. Dress versions have been calculated with pockets included and an elastic back as this uses more fabric. Should you make it without pockets or have a zip back instead this will use less fabric. Due to the width of the skirt piece, the fabric will need to be cut on the flat, with the pattern pieces rotated to cut on the cross grain. Keep this in mind when choosing fabric as this won’t work with directional print fabrics. You could swap the Poppy skirt for a simple rectangle shape skirt if there is a directional print fabric you want to use; or you could create a CF/CB seam on the skirt and join together to keep the fullness!

Only the bodice part of the Poppy top/dress is lined (upper bust, under bust, waist panel and back pieces) and the waist part of the separate skirt option. Quantities for the bodice below are based on the bust pieces using cup size D/E/F for an average.

0.6cm (1/4”) elastic is needed for the puff sleeve (both shoulder and hem), elastic strap, the faux shirred elasticated back and the separate skirt option. Quantities below are for all options.
